EMADINE sterile ophthalmic solution is applied to the eye.

Active ingredient

1 ml of the solution contains 0.5 mg emedastine (as difumarate).

Benzalkonium chloride, trometamol, sodium chloride, hipromellos, hydrochloric acid and / or sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment), purified water
2. What is EMADINE and what is it used for?

    EMADINE is used in the treatment of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis of the eye. It acts by reducing the severity of the allergic reaction.

    • Allergic conjunctivitis: It is an allergic reaction such as itching, redness and swelling of the eyes caused by certain substances (allergens) such as pollen, house dust or animal hair.
3. How to use EMADINE?

Always use this medicine as your doctor told you or as described in this leaflet. If you are not sure, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Instructions for proper use and dose / frequency of administration

Adults and children over 3 years old: One drop twice a day.

Unless your doctor recommends otherwise, use it at this dose. Use this medicine as long as your doctor recommends. Only drip into both eyes if your doctor recommends.
Take a mirror and bottle of EMADINE.
Wash your hands.
We open the container.
If the safety indicator ring is loose after the cover is opened, remove the ring before using the product.
Hold the bottle between your thumb and middle fingers, turn it upside down.
Tilt your head back. Pull down your lower eyelid with your finger until a pouch forms between your eyelid and your eye. You will drip the drip here (picture 1).
Bring the dropper tip close to the eye. Use a mirror if it helps.
Do not touch the dropper in your eyes, eyelids, surfaces around your eyes or other surfaces. This can cause the dropper to become infected.
Apply a gentle pressure on the bottle so that one drop of EMADINE flows at a time.
Do not squeeze the container, if necessary, apply only a slight pressure to the back of the bottle (picture 2).
If you need to use the drops in both eyes, repeat the above steps for the other eye.
Close the lid tightly immediately after use.

If you accidentally swallow or inject EMADENE, consult your doctor immediately. This can affect your heart rhythm.

If the drop does not get into your eyes, try again.

If you are using another medicine for your eyes, take a break of at least 10 minutes between two consecutive applications. Eye pomades should be applied last.

If you have any additional questions about the use of the medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
4. What are the possible side effects?

Like all medicines, there may be side effects in people who are sensitive to the substances contained in EMADINE.

As long as these effects are not severe, you can continue using the medicine. If you are worried, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Side effects are listed as shown in the following categories:

Very common: It can be seen in at least 1 of 10 patients.

Common: less than one in 10 patients, but more than one in 100 patients.

Uncommon: less than one in 100 patients, but more than one in 1,000 patients.

Rare: less than one in 1,000 patients, but more than one in 10,000 patients. Very rare: may be seen less than one in 10,000 patients.

Unknown frequency: It can be seen in too few patients that cannot be determined from the available data.

If you have one of the following, it means you have a serious allegiance to EMADINE. You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalization:

Allergic reactions such as swelling of the hands, feet, wrists, face and lips or especially the mouth and throat to make swallowing and breathing difficult, severe itching in the eyes, redness, watery eyes

These are all very serious side effects.

2.Things to watch out for before using EMADINE
DO NOT USE EMADINE in the following situations

Do not use if you have hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients.

Consult your doctor for advice.
USE EMADINE CAREFULLY in the following situations
EMADINE should not be used in children under 3 years of age.
If you wear contact lenses, see the section "Important information about some auxiliary substances contained in EMADINE".
EMADINE is not recommended for use in patients over the age of 65, since this group of patients has not been studied in clinical studies.
EMADINE is not recommended for use in patients with kidney or liver problems.
